I remember always having Oatmeal Easter morning... anyone else?
I remember the easter that we paper macheed (sp) our easter baskets. Mom got balloons and I just had to have a long skinny one...anyway we covered them with flour paste and strips of paper and let them dry. I dont remember if we painted or colored them. Does anyone else? The tradition was that we had to find our basket before we could keep any candy that we found. Well, I remember this year because Craig & Keven were getting all the candy and I couldn't even find my basket...thanks to dad who had climbed the telephone pole by the cellar and placed my basket on top. ... Like I thought to look that high.
I also remember that Easter was always the first winnie roast for the year.

Yes. Oatmeal on Easter morning. Even if Darrell didn't like it.
On Christmas morning it was waffles (or pancakes), and sausage.
The wiener roast season always began at Easter - even if it was in March. I remember one weiner roast when it was snowing!
The Easter Dad went back east to drive, we had the weiner roast on Saturday because he left on Sunday morning. It didn't snow at the weiner roast, but the next morning there was snow!
