Sharing... With 7 kids around a table. 5 of them boys. Food was a valuable commodity. I don't remember the year but it was when we were in the Red Kitchen. So... I was old enough to know better. Anyway. we were all gathered for dinner. Mashed potatoes, gravy, roast beef, pickled beets, corn... you name it. Anyway, the potatoes were right in front of me. Somebody said lets eat. I grabbed the potatoes and proceeded to load my plate... Or should I say overload my plate. I finished and somebody else said "Craig pass the potatoes." Dad said, "just minute, son hand me your plate." He then took my plate and passed it around the table and told everyone to take their potatoes from my plate. Wow... I remember we laughed and everyone teased me but the lesson was clear.

I so remember this....You must have had 5 lbs pototoes just on your plate. It was seriously insane.
I wasn't there, I guess. I don't remember that!
I think this story is so funny. I have heard it several times and it still brings a big smile to my face everytime I hear it.
I like to try and imagine your face Uncle Craig when Grandpa took your plate and passed it around.
