One of my fondest memories of my childhood is sitting around the kitchen table at supper. I was a teenager, and a bit full of it. I thought I knew everything and it's price.
A discussion (rather animated as I remember it) was going on. I don't remember the subject (do any of you?). I had taken a position which I knew to be wrong, but was arguing it out anyway.
Dad indicated that what I was saying was wrong, bringing God into the conversation. I said, "But if we leave God out of it..." Dad interrupted me, telling me "You can't leave God out of it!"
That is one of the first times I can remember Dad bringing God into a conversation. It affected me deeply, and continues to do so now.

Maybe Aunt Connie can remember, or maybe Uncle Joe....
Wish I could but I would have been 6 or 7 at the time.
But, a comment about Dad and the chruch. Although he was not active I remember that he always watched conference. Especially the last few years of his life. If I went over to clean on conference weekend I had to wait for conference to be over.
